Prince Charles Thanks Taylor Swift for Birthday Concert; London Braces for Swiftmania Boost

The Prince of Wales thanked Taylor Swift for a "great evening" after celebrating his birthday at her concert at Wembley on Friday night.

Kensington Palace shared a picture of Taylor Swift taking a selfie with Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte backstage before the concert.

"Thank you taylorswift13 for a great evening!" said the Palace's social media post.

Taylor Swift then posted a selfie with Prince William, his children, and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

"Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a great start," her post read.

The Princess of Wales stayed home with Prince Louis.

Labour leader Keir Starmer also attended the concert, part of Taylor Swift's record-breaking Eras tour.

Asked about the concert while campaigning in south London, he said, "She was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic."

He added, "I know I will be asked my favorite song, and I won't pretend to know every album and song, but Change is my favorite for obvious reasons."

The Labour manifesto, called Change, shares its name with a song from Swift’s 2008 album Fearless.

He added, "What I learned last night is that my daughter knows every album, every song, and every word of every song, and she wasn’t alone among the teenage girls who were there. It was absolutely brilliant."

Other celebrities at the concert included Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan and Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness. They were joined by Kelce, his brother Jason, their parents, Swift’s parents Andrea and Scott, as she performed for nearly 90,000 people.

London is abuzz with Swiftmania. A special tube map and Taylor trail were created to celebrate her arrival.

It was announced on Thursday that Swift fans are expected to boost the London economy by £300 million. London hosts more Eras tour shows than any other city worldwide, with nearly 640,000 people expected to attend across eight dates.

Swift has performed in Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Cardiff, and will perform at Wembley again on Saturday and Sunday before heading to Dublin. She will return to London for five nights in August.
