Bryson Muir, aged 14, was discovered unharmed on Wednesday morning during a search of the Muir family residence in Logansport by Indiana State Police and local authorities, who were acting on a warrant, according to a statement from the state police. Bryson had last been seen departing his grandmother's residence in Ohio on June 16.
Daniel Muir faces charges of obstruction of justice and domestic battery, while his wife, Kristin Muir, is also charged with obstruction, according to police statements.
Last week, Cheryl Wright, the mother of Kristin Muir, informed NBC affiliate WTHR of Indianapolis that she had retrieved her grandson from Toledo, Ohio, at the behest of his parents. While under her supervision, she observed that Bryson had a black eye, a split lip, and a swollen face.
"He mentioned that his father was responsible, though he didn't express anger toward him," Wright recounted. "He said he felt he deserved it and that it was acceptable. I reassured him that such treatment wasn't right and that no one should harm their children, especially if they care for them."

On June 16, Wright contacted local police after Bryson's parents, accompanied by an unidentified man, picked him up. However, Bryson was not found in the vehicle when it was stopped shortly after leaving her residence, authorities stated.
State police were requested to aid in a domestic battery inquiry two days afterward. Investigators had conversed with Daniel and Kristin Muir, who consented to a meeting involving Bryson.
However, authorities stated that the couple did not follow through on taking the teenage boy to meet with investigators.
The silver alert issued on Sunday described Bryson as "missing and endangered."
Bryson is under the care of the Cass County Department of Child Services. State police reported that he appeared "safe and in good health."
Court records for Daniel and Kristin Muir were not readily accessible. It is uncertain if the couple, who were transported to Cass County Jail, have legal representation.
Daniel Muir, a former NFL defensive tackle, played for several teams between 2007 and 2014.
As per his ESPN profile, Daniel Muir was under contract with the Indianapolis Colts for four seasons. Following his retirement, Muir reportedly delivered motivational speeches, as detailed by The Indianapolis Star.
